Hello everyone!!! As some of you may know, Mark Hall and his family hold an annual fundraiser to raise money for Mark's physical therapy and recovery. The money raised goes to The Be Perfect Foundation (501c3) who pays for Marks therapy at Project Walk, towards gas money to get to Project Walk, and other items that Mark may need to help him along his way to recovery. For those who may not be familiar with Mark’s story, he was involved in a rollover automobile accident on his way to work in August of 2007. He ultimately survived, but suffered a Spinal Cord Injury leaving him a Quadriplegic, paralyzed from the neck down. Mark and his wife of nearly 13 years Keleigh, have 3 beautiful daughters, Raven 11, Willow 7, and Lily who just turned 5. Despite their circumstances, they have remained positive, happy and feel very blessed to this day. One of the pitfalls of Spinal Cord Injury is having to acquire a wheelchair friendly vehicle. They were fortunate enough to have a van with a wheelchair lift given to them by good friends, which was HUGE! It was in great condition at the time but because it is their only vehicle, the wear and tear, and 100,000+ miles on the engine have finally caught up with them. It is 12 years old and starting to break down more frequently. When it does break down and they don't have the money at the time to fix it, Mark is literally unable to leave the house. Twice this year he has been stuck in the house for more than a month each time. In the meantime he is missing therapy, doctor appointments and unfortunately functions involving his daughters. Another issue with the van is that it isn't the best on gas and since Project Walk is 80 miles away from their house in Riverside it gets very pricy. Mark has even had to turn down free therapy because of not being able to pay the gas to get there. They’re not sure how much longer the van will last so at this point, this is a necessity. SO!! For all these reasons we thought we would begin a campaign to get their family a new vehicle. This vehicle has to be big enough to fit all 5 of them, have enough room in the back for Mark's wheelchair, and obviously great on gas! Another van would be nice but not practical because they’re very expensive, and since Mark is still in his wheelchair during the drive, longer trips are very uncomfortable. We aren’t shooting for a massive SUV or anything here. More like a midsize Ford Fusion, Ford Escape, or Chevy Cruze. We are asking for anyone interested and willing to help them get this new car by simply donating $5. (more if you like). It’s a heck of a challenge but, $5 isn’t much, if we get enough people to donate we can do it, AND YOU CAN HELP!! PS: Thank you for taking the time to read this. And if you could forward the request to everyone who you think would be willing to do it also that would be great! Let’s see if we can do this!!!
